🤖 AI News

In a world where AI is becoming everyone's personal assistant, it's now gunning for a promotion to HR manager, vocal coach, and even your family's know-it-all uncle.

YouTube's channeling its inner Simon Cowell, developing AI tools to detect fake singers and celebrity impersonators. Soon, those "Obama singing Shake It Off" videos might come with a "100% Real President" stamp.

Google Photos is becoming your AI-powered time machine with its new "Ask" feature. Now you can interrogate your photos like they're suspects in a crime. "Hey Google, who's that guy I'm hugging in this 2015 New Year's Eve photo?"

For us marketers, this AI revolution means we're entering uncharted territory. We'll need to become masters of authenticity in a world of deepfakes, wizards of personalization without crossing privacy lines, and nimble adapters to AI-driven recruitment processes. Our campaigns will need to be smarter, our content more genuine, and our strategies more flexible than ever before. In this brave new world, the key to success will be balancing AI's efficiency with human creativity and empathy.

Now, excuse me while I prepare for my AI-scheduled interview with a deepfake recruiter about becoming a virtual reality pop star.

⭐️ Your AI Tip of the Week

It's performance review season. Here are some ways you use AI to showcase your contributions and land a promotion or raise:

Show your accomplishments

Use AI to help you find meaningful insights:

  • If you’ve been tracking your key projects throughout the year, pull some relevant data from before your contributions and after your contributions.
  • Tell ChatGPT what the project was, the goals, the metrics that were measured, and your role in the project.
  • Ask it to find meaningful ways to showcase the value of your contribution of this project to your manager for your yearly review.

Self-Assessment

AI can help you articulate your accomplishments and contributions more effectively:

  • Use AI to brainstorm additional accomplishments you may have overlooked.
  • Ask the AI to help phrase your self-assessment in a professional, objective tone.

Goal Setting

AI can assist in formulating meaningful goals for the upcoming review period:

  • Describe your role and aspirations, then ask the AI to suggest relevant SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound) goals.
  • Use AI to refine and improve the wording of your proposed goals.

Identifying Areas for Improvement

AI can help you reflect on areas where you can grow:

  • Describe your current skills and responsibilities, then ask the AI to suggest potential areas for professional development.

Some reminders

While using AI can be helpful, it's crucial to remember that the output should be a starting point for your own reflection and input. Always review and personalize any AI-generated content to ensure it accurately reflects your experiences, achievements, and goals. Additionally, be mindful of your company's policies regarding the use of external AI tools with work-related information.
